Whoever at Bluepoint thought that Cloak and Hidden Body didn't need any adjustments from the original game is a fool. Not only was it already absurd enough trying to spot someone who had 90-98% transparency but it's actually much harder to do so in the remake. The much higher polygon count of the models in the remake break up so much detail that you'll be very lucky to spot an outlined edge (unless it's a red/blue phantom) and the much higher level of lighting (especially in regards to dark areas) makes it so that any outline you could possibly see easily ends up blending in even when the person is moving. Plus a player makes no movement sound while either effect is active, so good luck spotting someone being sneaky.

There's also the problem that the radius you need to be in for the Graverobber/Thief Ring effects to fade away is notably tiny and that it's slow to change to the visible state. Which is also effected by latency, sometimes it's actually possible to run into and touch someone before the effect starts to break. I didn't expect much to change with the remake but I still expected them to at least make some balance changes to similar items/mechanics that FromSoftware themselves would make in later games. The Ring of Fog was one of the very first things patched in DS1 and the range of Obscurring Ring in DS3 has a much larger radius for this very reason.

For those wondering, the boss room was open because the host had previously defeated it but went back into 2-1 with a password active.
