Gravity Circuit: Part 3: Mission & Upgrade Details, Trace/Patch Circuit Stage (100% Completed)
Whenever you're done talking to the other bots in Guardian Corps HQ, go talk to Kernel to get your first mission briefing from and the main premise of this Mega Man-inspired game.
----------
The Virus Army has come back with a vengeance and are now wreaking havoc everywhere, and not just the HQ. They seemed to have developed smarter strategies of attack this time compared to many years ago...
Another mysterious bot comes in, telling Kernel & Kai how this came to be...
This shrouded, mysterious bot was named Nega. He had told them that the Virus Army was now being organized by other Circuits. Kai's allies that have now become the Rebel Circuits.
It was now up to Kai, the Gravity Circuit, to put an end to this new generation of the Virus Army and defeat the Rebel Circuits that lead them.
----------
Before choosing a stage Mega Man style, more NPCs should now be available to talk to besides the ones I talked to in Part 2.
There's a cute painter bot named Prim. She was busy painting something at the Power Plant until the Virus Army arrived. So she retreated back to HQ for safety.
In this meantime, if you can bring Prim those purple Palette Chips and pay her alongside them, she'll be inspired to give Kai a new paint job that gives his whole body a different color, and some kind of new ability.
These abilities tend to be based on what a Rebel Circuit can do and 1 out of up to 3 moves Kai can copy from them.
Right now, the exception to this is the Fading Oynx chip I got in the Training Room, that just makes you take more damage. There's a reason this paint job exist, besides maybe for bragging rights of beating a stage with it, but that won't be until much later.
----------
Talking to Nega again will allow you to buy Burst Technique from him. More will be unlocked as you defeat the Rebel Circuits, as each defeat will unlock two more Burst Techniques that you can buy from Nega, as these will be two more moves that Kai can copy from them besides the Palette moves.
Medic also shows up as an NPC now. He's who Medic assists. You get to do something kinda funny with him later.
----------
Now for the first Rebel Circuit stage: The Junkyard, led by Trace, the Patch Circuit.
Trace is trying to use her powers to reanimate the scrap there into zombie robots. She must be stopped. Besides Kernel personally seems afraid of such a thought as "zombie bots".
----
All 8 Rebel Circuit stages, there will be 8 civilians in each of them that need rescuing. Each rescue will net you a Rescue Token, which you can then spend (alongside Bit money) on Enhancement Chips sold by Medic.
There are also two other extra items to look for in each of these stages, too. A Palette Chip for Prim, and either a Red Health Upgrade or a Green Burst Upgrade.
My videos for these Rebel Circuit stages are meant to show off how to get everything in each of them, and many of them tend to be in hidden rooms guarded by a cracked wall. Just hit these walls to go in.
I don't care too much for performance, but better performances (speeding through stages, taking few hits, etc.) does net you more Bits to spend. Even with how aggressive the game can be, it's also much less merciless than Mega Man. You'll just respawn with less health rather than dying instantly if you get crushed, touch spikes, for fall down a bottomless pit.
Some stages, like this one, also have miniboss, such as this stage's Scrap Golem.
You'll know you're about to face a main boss when you have to go through a big gray door, again Mega Man style.
----------
Eventually, Kai comes face-to-face against Trace, the Patch Circuit.
Just as was discussed by the Kernel, she can reanimate junk bots into zombie bots, and attack with all sorts of medical-based moves.
Most bosses in this game have an "Overlimit" stage if you hit them too much in a short amount, probably the game's way of keeping you from cheesing a win on them too fast.
The Rebel Circuits all have 2 health bars, and once one is gone, they'll start using a Burst Technique of their own.
----------
Either way, I eventually defeat Trace and take her Patch Circuit back to base. At least Kernel's nightmare will stop now.
Coming back, you'll meet another NPC called Pat. He's a huge fan of Kai, to the point of always calling him "Master Kai". He will keep track of all of your Achievements.
In the Medical Room, the funny thing you can do with Medic is piss him off by knocking on the yellow tube he and Medic are healing a bot in.
Out of the 8 civilian bots that you save in each Rebel Circuit stage, at least one of them will now also hang out in HQ for you to talk to. The civilian I save from the Patch Circuit that's that's like this is named Shock. He's quite an anxious fellow and is afraid of everything.
Beating Trace will have Nega sell her Emergency Heal & Hardware Barrier Burst Techniques. Bring Prim her Palette Chip to gain the Draining Gray alt color that heals with hitting enemies with Melee Bursts.
