10This are main changes and diffrences:
The attract mode is changed completly.
Sparks and thrusters are emitted in the attract mode car and are visually better for in game cars.
Two new cars are added, Firball and Racer X both refered as "American Special Car" at end of any course.
Many effects are added, like jumping for example or improved.
In order to change the color of you car, wait until it changes color then push any button, you change it for the special cars.
The game is about competing in a time trial rather than a direct race, the player must complete stages of increasing complexity and difficulty within one minute.
Other cars are on the road but they are considerably slower than the player's car and serve as obstacles to be avoided rather than to be raced.
if a level is passed then the player will be treated to a short burst of their chosen car manufacturer's national anthem and will progress to the next stage, if the player fail to reach the chequered flag within the allotted time the game is over (players are given the opportunity to continue by inserting further coins).
Each car has its own engine sound and there are crash effects and screeching tyres; the cars are 'steered' by simple left/right movement of the joystick which allows for tailslides and fairly free control.
Steering is not progressive and so the player must 'twitch' the car in either direction to avoid other traffic.
Leaving the road, colliding with other cars/stationary track obstacles/other elements of the environment will slow the player down and cost them time.
If a player collide too heavily, the car will spin out of control and will be reset, again costing valuable time.
As the player drives, coloured arrows are overlayed on the road showing the direction and severity of the next bend. The corners become more complex as the game progresses and a skilled player can take advantage of several shortcuts, and improve their time.
