Great Games & Good Food: #7 - Cheddar Biscuits with Country Gravy

Hillhouse's Country Gravy
1 Lb. of Sausage
4 Slices of thick cut Bacon - chopped up small
1 Cup of Flour
6 Cups of Milk
1 Stick of Butter
2 Tbs. minced Garlic
1 Medium Onion - chopped up small
1 Tbs. Garlic Powder
1 Tbs. Onion Powder
1 Tbs. Paprika
Salt
Pepper
Over Medium High heat, cook Bacon and Sausage until browned.
Remove Meat from pan and place pan back over the heat.
When the drippings heat back up add the Garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add the chopped Onion and cook until soft.
Add the stick of Butter and stir until melted.
Add the Flour, stirring until it forms a smooth paste. Cook for 2 minutes.
Slowly add the milk, whisking the entire time.
Add Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Paprika.
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Cheddar Drop Biscuits
4 Cups of All Purpose Flour
5 Tsp. of Baking Powder
2 Tbs. White Sugar
2 Sticks of chilled Butter, diced into cubes
1 Tsp. Salt
2 1/2 Cups of Milk
1 Cup of shredded Cheddar Cheese
Preheat oven to 450 Degrees F {230 Degrees C}
Mix together Flour, Baking Powder, Salt and Sugar in a large bowl.
Cut in the cold diced Butter with a large fork or pastry blender
until mixture resembles coarse crumbs or small peas.
Slowly add Milk a little at a time, stiring until dough just forms.
Add Cheddar and fold it into dough.
Drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet about 2 inches apart,
and bake for 12 to 17 minutes. just until slightly brown on top.
Slice in half and cover with Gravy!! Enjoy!!
