"Gremlins 2: The New Batch" is a 1990 American comedy horror film directed by Joe Dante and serves as a sequel to the 1984 film "Gremlins." The story revolves around Gizmo, a cute and friendly Mogwai, who ends up in a high-tech skyscraper in New York City called Clamp Center. The building is owned by eccentric businessman Daniel Clamp.
Gizmo inadvertently gets wet, triggering the creation of new Mogwai, including the mischievous and destructive Mohawk. Chaos ensues as the new batch of Mogwai transforms into the infamous Gremlins, causing havoc throughout the skyscraper. The Gremlins, led by Mohawk, disrupt the technology in the building, wreaking havoc on the occupants.
The film combines horror elements with satirical comedy, poking fun at corporate culture and media. It also introduces genetically modified and more diverse Gremlins, each with unique personalities and abilities. The protagonist, Billy Peltzer, along with his girlfriend Kate and some allies, must find a way to stop the Gremlin rampage and prevent the chaos from spreading beyond the skyscraper.
