The Greyhounds is an elite commando force of Andhra Pradesh which combats extremism in the state. The force was created in 1986 to control the Naxalites who at one time had a strong presence in 24 districts of the state. Only the best policemen of Andhra Pradesh make it to the Greyhounds squad.
