It's appreciation time! We've hit 250+ mark, and wanted to say thanks to all! Took the time to make on Educational style vlog to mark the occasion. Vid timeline and source links:
(0:00) Intro.
I give thanks to all who have visited, subbed, commented and provided us with feedback. And forgot to mention, those who have liked our videos too!
I stand next to my son's telescope, a Meade Infinity 102.
(0:51) Balin Wall Murals and upper exhibits.
The site was pretty crowded. But here, in the W. M. Keck Foundation Central Rotunda, I managed to lock my sights on the Balin Wall Murals.
Another attraction in this central room is the Foucault Pendulum.
The tower on the yard outside is the Astronomers Monument.
(5:06) Planetarium and Zeiss Telescope.
We managed to experience two of the building's three domes.
We had the opportunity to see the 'Centered of the Universe' show in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.
We we're also able to experience the 12-inch retracting Zeiss Telescope, by observing Jupiter.
The third dome houses the Coelostat/Solar telescope. We'll put that at the top of our priority list, should we visit again.
(6:52) Lower exhibition areas.
Compromised of two levels: First there's the Edge of Space Exhibits and Meteorites. Further below is the Gunther Depths of Space Exhibits.
Looks like there's two ways of accessing those areas. Either via the Cosmic Connection hallway, which is the one we took. Or the Wormhole Stairway.
