GT 1030 vs RX 550 Frame Time Analysis w/ G4560 - DOOM OpenGL & Vulkan [ARGENT FACILITY]
GT 1030 vs RX 550 BENCHMARK w/ Pentium G4560 - DOOM OpenGL & Vulkan [ARGENT FACILITY]
Doom, released more than a year ago, is still the only major AAA title to support Vulkan, the low-overhead, cross-platform 3D graphics API. Id did a marvellous job, the game depicts a visually stunning research facility on Mars as the player fights his way through the levels to contain the demonic invasion. In the benchmark sequences we explore the dark corridors of the Argent Facility - 1080p and medium preset was used.
As AMD was really vocal about the performance of the Radeon GPUs with the game, it comes as no surprise that the RX 550 edges out the GT 1030 with a 8% margin. Unlike the RX 550, which shows consistent gains with Vulkan over OpenGL throughout the runs, the performance of the GT 1030 varies a lot - in certain viewpoints Vulkan has the advantage over OpenGL, in others it's vice versa, the fluctuation can be as big as 50%.
