GTA IV Cops 'n' Crooks REDUX: Boss Take Down & Escape to Steinway on Foot

Back in 2012-2013, CnC Club members mostly played against each other competitively. When playing against randoms however we set ourselves the extra challenge of making it to the getaway on foot. I uploaded one escape for every getaway in my On Foot Series, but recently realised I still had some surplus attempts recorded and I never uploaded back in the day - as it took us a while to draw all getaway variations randomly.

It looks like we're toying with them here, but this is more a case of strategy: we need a score buffer for the next round. If we kill the Boss straight away and no crooks, then we leave ourselves open to being wiped out at the start of next round if we get bad weapon spawns - especially as we are planning to try to make it to the getaway on foot, so fleeing in a car isn't going to be an option. Not making it to the getaway would be a failure in itself. But losing on overall score to a bunch of random players, when we were the from the group of most experience CnC veterans on the PC at the time - that would be a complete embarrassment.

We encounter the cops at the gate, and it's down to me an one cop with everyone else in this wave dying. He has a shotgun so I make sure I outrange him with the M4.

Possibly this was badly thought out as I should have got into the cover of the projects earlier. I could easily have been taken out in the open here, but we survive. The hedge that blocks my view probably helps to make the cop shooting harder.

Figuring they are all behind us, I grab a sniper and look to soften up some the pursuers. Again, my team mates mop up another wave of cops before moving forwards again.

This is where I come closest to dying. One cop gets a good salvo of shots off, taking away all of my armour and most of my health in a second. At this stage I don't mess around and use the RPG to dispatch any threats as quickly as possible.
