In this video, I'm showcasing GTA5 gameplay on the Steam Deck and I was really impressed by how well and smooth the game was running. As you noticed in the video, I’m using default game settings, (tinkering or tweaking was not needed). Here is some tips/advice to consider when running AAA games on the Steam Deck:

• If you are running a demanding (GPU-thirsty) game, while in game, you can click on the quick settings button and activate ‘user per-game profile’ to enable ‘per game customization’ (frame rate, refresh rate, performance, visual quality level, battery life)

• Before starting the game, you can go to the settings icon (gear) on the right side (next to the controller icon) – Properties – Compatibility – select ‘Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool’ – choose ‘Proton Experimental’ (your safest option)

• If you are not sure/familiar with the Proton version that you need to choose for a specific game to run well, please do enough research to avoid ending up choosing the wrong Proton version and messing up your game. In this case, ‘Proton Experimental’ is your safest option

• If you want to change game controller settings, you can press on the Steam button – Controller Settings or before starting a game, you can go to the controller icon on the right side (next to the settings/gear icon)
