GTX (Doom 3 - MOD)
This is quite literally one of my favourite mods for any game and it's also one that I even helped bring to the Mac back when I ran the AppleCrypt website. Back then I was known as Strider (see the GTX docs!) and I fully expect nobody will remember any of this from yesteryear!! Okay, enough of my BS and onwards with this post..
The GTX mod will change a heck of a lot in the game - here is a complete spec list from Gyppi himself - Bloom shader, Parallax mapping, RealMetal Ex, Self-Shadows, Weapons Reflection, Distance Grow, Simple effect like sparks, Floor Reflection. All in all, this graphically transforms Doom 3 into hellish brilliance! An ace mod!!!
Installation is very easy, place the GTX folder inside this location:
/Users/YOU/Library/Application Support/Doom 3
Now launch Doom 3 as normal and select GTX from the MODS Menu. (you'll probably need to re-configure a few settings again so check 'em before starting your game). This little video that demonstrates some of the features of GTX Doom 3 :-)
