Now have the bouncing mushroom mastery. This is what they look like, and one use for them. They provide a means of quick escape sometimes as well, since npc beasts don't use them.
Incidentally, Steam says I've played now for just over 120 hours. I've spent some of that time working on crafting, but need a lot more time at it to be able to make anything useful for myself. For now, the game gives me what I need.
