Guild Wars 2 A Study in Scarlet
6This is the big story instance of the new Edge Of The Mists update. This is called A Study in Scarlet and gives you the Delaqua Investigator achievement upon completing. There is no action here but a lot of story development and a good recap for those who missed the previous Living Story episodes.
To get to this instance, you have to do the previous on in the last video and then talk to Braham in The Edge Of The Mists map, you'll get a letter and be prompted to get back to the Dead End bar where this instance takes place. Braham is easy to find and is at spawn basically in the map with Taimi, just you may not notice him due to the green little dots of other players blocking the golden star waypoint off.
I only make one mistake in the investigation just to see what happens but you cannot progress until you get all the right answers, however it's very easy as some of the choices are pretty funny, lol at The Queen hiring Scarlet.
This really is a nice story instance since now basically everything from the written stories on the GW2 site is now in game and accessible to all players. You don't even have to play World vs World to get this instance. So while I did not enjoy being unable to access this due to downtime at least it's up.
The video speaks for itself but basically you learn a lot about Scarlet, her actions as Ceara that changed her into this Scarlet persona, The voices in her head that are most likely that of an Elder Dragon of some sort, how she used all of these factions to further her goals and become her own army.
The real purpose of the probes is to interfere with the laylines nearby them, magical currents basically. Hence the Jungle Wurm attacked. Note that ley-lines are also things Elder Dragons can absorb!
Thus the only remaining mystery is who the voices belong to and if that's going to matter. I hope it does. The probe in Lion's Arch may awaken something if it's like those in Bloodtide Coast. Most are hoping for an Elder Dragon but may not be.. Either way, Lion's Arch looks doomed. Maybe the big change Arena Net has said was coming would be the complete destruction of Lion's Arch.
