The final instance of Living Story Season 3, this is the Last Chance.
This one is..underwhelming honestly. It's only tedious, not hard.
The tedious part being the segment at the last boss where you have to protect an NPC from mobs that keep spawning. It's just more luck than anything, I cut out a big part of that until I finally got past it. I'm not sure how I even did it, I think it was a lot of luck and waiting for some big skills to be ready and I stood in front of her so in front of where some sparks would spawn. This build of mine is for solo survivability mostly, not huge burst damage so it wasn't easy. Not sure if healing the NPC would pay off but that is an option too, just you can't change builds mid battle so....I made due with what I had.
It's just silly this NPC is built up to be bad ass and tough, they can survive hits from the last boss but a few little generic sparks are too much? Makes no sense lore or game-play wise, it takes you out of it and just makes you laugh until she dies in like two little taps from generic spark enemies then the fun ends.
Also...The ending just lacked a real call to action. It was cool and all but...Nothing like the end of Season 2 that set up HoT and made it feel urgent as you saw the Pact being destroyed and Destiny's Edge lost in the jungle. Here it's just, something bad will happen at a place, let's go there! That's it...
See I want to be excited but...it just doesn't do it. So we'll see on August 1st what new stuff A-Net will bring to the table with the next expansion.
One Path Ends was pretty weak. It's unfortunate. Just so disjointed story wise, some of these plot threads would have benefited for being in their own seasons and not feeling so rushed IMO. Why do we have time to deal with this when a more pressing threat is clearly on the loose? Lol. I also wish this one didn't drag on, it got so bad I almost had to leave during the instance to attend to real life business.
