Only one stage was recorded for this video due to how later stages can run up to an hour if you can't find all the enemies to eliminate. At the very least, this is another example that Xbox emulation on Steam Deck is getting better.
As far as Gun Valkyrie itself, it's tragic how much of a missed opportunity this game was at becoming a series instead of a one-off. The concept is simple but the art direction is awesome with a gameplay loop that could work well even in today's market. The biggest negative are the controls. The learning curve is incredibly steep to the extent that even Steam Input can't save them. I can see a why a lot of people gave up on Gun Valkyrie back in the day. But fixing the controls would go a long way to introducing the title to a new generation of gamers.
Sega and Smilebit should revisit Gun Valkyrie as the potential is still there even after 20 years since debut.
