Gungrave is one of my personal favourite series from that golden age of the PS2 where it seemed anything could get made. It was way better than it had any right to be with its dedication to one simple mission objective: KICK THEIR ASS. It returned a few years back as a VR title, handled by South Korean developer Studio Iggymob. It was pretty bad, as I said in my review at the time. That same developer were also working on a true third game in the series with 'Gungrave G.O.R.E', which finally got released in 2022 after years of waiting. The critics hated it, but is it really as bad as they say? I argue that nobody (especially critics) really 'got' what it was trying to be. 'Gungrave G.O.R.E' ended up being one of my favourite games of 2022, and after a bunch of updates and patches fixing some of the more irritating aspects of the game there's really no reason not to play it.
