▼More about Banjo-Kazooie▼

Now that we are in Fall, we start seeing some of the payoff for random acts of helpfulness we have been doing in the previous seasons. I say helpfulness…. But the first thing that we do is find Gobi to ground pound on his back one more time. This lets the flower grow to its full height, spawning a Jiggy at the top. That is one thing that I find frustrating about Autumn, it feels like there is a lot of up and down the tree to make sure that you get everything. On the other hand, that could just be because Andrew’s platforming skill fluctuates between incredibly impressive and terrifyingly bad. There is no in between, as it should be. If you are going to fail, you may as well fail spectacularly. The first jiggy that we pick up, however, is swimming our way up into the beaver dam to collect our reward for letting him into his home in Summer.

One particular effect that I do like from Click Clock Wood is that rather than shoehorning in a use for the Bee in every season, they make up a reason for Mumbo not to help you in Summer, Fall, and Winter. It’s a really important to me because then you would need to transform in every single season in order to get all of the Bear Banjo jiggies and the Bee Banjo jiggies for each area, which would make the level take so much longer. Not to mention that I am not sure they could have come up with reasons for you to use the Bee to get jiggies beyond the flower and the beehive. It is still important to go check the hut though in case you can get some notes. In the same vein going in the beehive in Fall gives you access to some witty dialogue, a caterpillar, and the a few notes.

WHO KNEW THAT NAZIS BROUGHT US DELICIOUS FRUITY DRINKS? Not me, that’s for sure.

Working on climbing back up the tree, one of our last stops is helping Nabnuts get some acorns so that he can survive the winter. The timeline here is a bit weird considering he was already fat and had time to find some, but who am I to judge a squirrel’s eating habits? I want to say that I heard at one point this squirrel was supposed to be Conker, but I honestly cannot find anything to support that. I just want the Rare Cinematic Universe to be a reality. With 2 jiggies left to collect - Eayrie and the jinjos - we just need to make sure we have all of the notes from Autumn before moving on to winter!

Winter is where the magic happens. We find the Witch Switch, both hollow honeycombs, the only fly pads for this level, a fully grown bird, a secret egg, the final jinjo, and the most sentient beehive so far. Most of this happens fairly quickly because of the aforementioned flight pads. We get up on mumbo’s hut for the last jinjo, kill some Sir Slushes to find the Witch Switch, then dive into the icy pond to collect the first hollow honeycomb for the level. Then, for some reason, Andrew decides that the best option here is to climb the tree instead of fly up. It does give us some extra tension with the destroyed beehive (another nice detail), but really with as little as we have left to collect it’s easiest to just get up as quickly as possible. The secret egg for this level is hidden on Nabnut’s table while he is sleeping with his girlfriend (ooooOOOOoooo). Nabut’s attic is where the real secret is: not only does he have all of these acorns that he lied to us about in Autumn, but he is storing some enemies and a hollow honeycomb as well.

At this point, all we have left to do is confirm that I know this game better than Andrew by collecting the last jiggy for a whopping total of 0 caterpillars. Now we sweep through collecting the last few notes, grab the final Jiggy (and repeat one due to save error) before we prepare for the final confrontation...
