This game just has so much introduction and ending to it. Normally I get a bit bored during segments like these, but they really managed to pump some life into it.

▼More about Banjo-Kazooie▼
We are finally at the end of the game! I no longer have a list of jiggies at the bottom of my description detailing where to look in the video to find specific jiggies! That is a weird feeling.

Immediately jumping into the action, we are suddenly stars on a game show that is advertised as completely impossible to win. Good thing we’ve got Protagonist Immunity, so that hardly matters. The different squares on the game board relate to different types of questions or challenges that you can be asked to answer ranging from general trivia about the games locations / characters to Gunty’s favorite color of underwear. One thing that is important to point out: the questions about herself that Grunty might ask you are not random themselves, but the *correct answers* to any given question are randomized in each save file. This means that unless you have actually stopped to talk to Brentilda (Grunty’s sister) when she shows up throughout the game and been taking notes, you will have absolutely no idea what you should say for these questions. We didn’t talk to her a single time. We are soooooooooooooo boned. Luckily there are options for skipping some questions and failure usually only costs one health so you can try again. 33% isn’t the worst odds when randomly guessing.

Making it all the way through the board game, Grunty runs away up some hidden stairs and we finally manage to rescue Tooty to bring her back home! The credits roll, the day is saved, and - oh right we should probably go teach Grunty a lesson for stealing our sister in the first place. On a real note though, rescuing Tooty is the entire reason that we embarked on the adventure in the first place. We have lived peacefully next to Grunty for what seems to be a reasonably long time, and suddenly now she deserves to be taken down? That seems a bit overkill, they could probably work something out. Maybe Grunty holds back a bit on her magical vegetables that seem to grow right outside of Banjo’s house. Those seem a bit menacing.

Rushing back into the lair, Banjo and Kazooie finally get to the areas from which we see Grunty work her magic at the beginning of the game. Rare even managed to include the room with the Youngifying machine as a little reminder of what you were even saving Tooty from the whole time. There are a handful of note doors left in this area with increasing requirements, each with increasingly valuable rewards. Three of these noet doors give you access to free max refills of all of your consumable items (eggs, red feathers, and gold feathers in that order), and the final final area has a completely empty puzzle. When you fill it in, you reveal a picture of a hollow honeycomb that doubles your health bar! This leaves us with 2 jiggies, which is odd because something this powerful seems like it would be reserved for people who go the extra mile to collect absolutely everything on their way through the game. There’s no difference between getting “nearly all” and “all” the notes or the jiggies, so if one happened to slip your mind you wouldn’t be punished too harshly.

Making our way to the final battle…. I have mixed feelings on this. The battle itself doesn’t seem incredibly difficult, but I do like that it comes in various stages that test several different abilities that you have accrued throughout the game. Dodging around, flying, beak bomb, gold feathers to dodge specific attacks, and shooting eggs in a straight line. One thing that makes this fight extra difficult is the fact that occasionally the game will glitch and become unfinishable when you try to shoot eggs to pay the toll to summon the Jinjinator. Because of how long the fight is, repeating the fight multiple times because the game glitches gets very frustrating very quickly.

Once everything has been sorted out though, the ending to the game is pretty fun! You watch Grunty fly off a cliff and get crushed by boulders, you see the real credits, Banjo and the gang are relaxing on a beach serviced by waitresses with huge…. tracts of land. Mumbo is even so kind as to show us some of the secrets we have already collected.
