Ah the hacking community you always impress the hell out of me, especially finding work-a-rounds like this utilizing a little known game on the 3DS called Cubic Ninja to install Homebrew Channel on 3DS. The best part this can be done on any current firmware release as well as any version of the 3DS. So that means the Nintendo 2DS, the regular ass 3DS, the 3DS XL and additionally means any region as well too so no one is left out.
The question though begs to be asked, how long before Nintendo catches on? And how hard is it gonna be to pick this game up after awhile? it's already going for ten times the amount it was since this Homebrew hack was figured out. Also makes you wonder if Ubisoft may release more copies but change whatever it is that allows the exploit and hope they can still cash in on the recent success.
