Half-Life 2 (2005) (Xbox) (Valve)
Recorded on real Xbox hardware.
Getting Half-Life 1 to run on a PS2 in 2001 was an impressive feat of engineering, but managing to squeeze the vastly more complex Half-Life 2 onto an original Xbox in 2005 arguably represented an even bigger technical achievement.
During its opening hours, the famous Valve shooter (originally released for PC just a year earlier) shows off the Source engine's advanced physics-related capabilities in a whole bunch of different scenarios - usually involving exploding barrels and destructible environments. The first Microsoft console really struggles - and repeatedly fails - to keep a steady frame rate throughout, but the game is still perfectly playable. Performance problems notwithstanding, you are certainly getting an authentic Half-Life 2 experience from this version of the game, and that's pretty cool...
