Half life 2 (M.A.T.V.) Part 15
1This is a rather fascinating chapter. I've played a few first person shooters were you can interact with fellow soldiers yet this one you can really feel esprit de corps. I think it's because you can only have 4 soldiers at a time, as supposed to an army of over 100. Plus there is this idea that they aren't coming from an infinite supply. These are just regular people who have finally had enough. As such, it really feels like a wasted life whenever these soldiers die. Then again they all knew the risks, and rather die on the field of battle, than under the oppressive rule of Dr. Breen. All the same, I rather like this section. From a game design perspective, it's impressive that you can still see new mechanics this late in the game, but even more so, you had practice with the Ant Lions. Getting close to the end, I hope you will join me then.
