Half life Minerva is a free single player mod of half life 2 available on steam. It was so good that Adam Foster actually landed a job at valve after releasing this game, and he's now working hard with half life 3, which will be released with the orange box 2, featuring portal 3 and left 4 dead 3 as well.
In Minerva You navigate a mysterious Combine controlled island guided by messages from an unseen observer. This campaign features well crafted levels, great combat, immersive environmental storytelling, and truly ball tingling creepy moments with a lot of oh shit, holy shit, and fuck me kind of moments. This completely blew me off my rocker ladies and gents.
