Half-Life 2 Opening Level Remade in Unreal Engine
While the absence of Half-Life 3 forces most of us to suffer eternally, hoping for some glimmer or hint of that mirage of a game, some do more than hope. Jeannot "Logithx" van Berl, a 3D artist working with Unreal Engine 3, has recreated the first level from Half-Life 2 in gorgeous detail. You can check out the three screenshots of the work he made in the gallery below.
"Was working on this City 17 environment in UDK, still tons of stuff to do like creating all the exterior stuff, train interiors and some smaller models (monitors and props) but then Epic released UE4 in all its glory," posted Logithx onPolycount forum.
"I'll probably quit this project in UDK and convert it all to the Unreal Engine 4. It's gonna take a while though. Please note that there's lots of placeholder models/textures/lighting and general derpyness in these pics. Can't wait to get going with UE4."
It's not HL 3, but it looks damn good.
