So, Half-Life: Alyx. It was fine. The gameplay was tolerable. The combat mechanics were acceptable, anything that involved using the Alyx tool was a waste of my time and I believe it will go down as well as motion controls did on the Wii. The plot was amazingly predictable, and the game went down the same paths as Half-Life 2, without nearly as much of the variety. It was atmospheric, sure, but that's probably the game's highest point. Some rough performance in sections didn't help either, nor did the incredibly long loading sections, which was especially frustrating after a death. Really disappointed I didn't like this.

Wow, I really hated that ending. Make us wait 13 years for a game that just retcons the previous one? Real cool, Valve. Real cool.
