Half-Life: Alyx [8] Family Circus Got WEIRD
A nice change in pace from all the combat. You can tell they crafted this with non-horror game players in mind, as there is almost no pressure on the player to do things. You never have to take a prolonged action after distracting Jeff, just lock him up somewhere or do one thing that causes a noise and then go away. Very "horror lite". It threw me off a bit before I realized that was how I was supposed to go about it.
A car alarm went off right as Jeff was banging on the console, which was pretty surreal. I paused the recording to make sure it wasn't mine (it wasn't), and got to listen to it go off for the rest of the recording.
Since this is a no commentary run, you're mercifully spared (not that mine is a good playthrough to watch anyway, especially with that weird hitching at the end there. The performance of this is so variable. Is it time for an upgrade or just weird VR things?).
It's like Valve was listening to me. The 1.2 patch put subtitles on for the spectator AND let me move with the left controller. So much nicer.
