Playing a new series custom campaign called Half-Life: Field Intensity. It is a campaign mod developed by Hazard Team and has more features than vanilla Half-Life: Opposing Force. This mod is unofficially connected to the original Half-Life games. However, it unfolds the events within the Black Mesa Research Facility.

The players will assume control of Cpl. Stefan Oldfield. An H.E.C.U. Marine, a member of the first squad who has been deployed to Black Mesa Research Facility to silence the witnesses and exterminate unknown hostile forces that invaded Black Mesa. Cpl. Oldfield's radio operator and an old friend, Kevin assist the player throughout the mission.

Storyline:
Stefan finds himself transported back to Black Mesa. Not the most ideal of places, but it's far better than being stranded in Xen. The area he finds himself in feels weirdly empty, with not a living soul in sight. But not in sound, thankfully: Kevin finally manages to re-establish contact with Stefan. It seems he wasn't able to evacuate, either, and they're unable to reunite in person at the moment, but that means nothing to Stefan when he can hear him at all. It seems almost too fortunate...
Exploring his surroundings a bit more, Stefan finally comes into contact with Black Ops. Unfortunately, it turns out they're here to do to the HECU, what the HECU were sent to do to Black Mesa. Great, another foe to face. Stefan meets up with a few stranded Marines, who also didn't make it out. Together, they plan to fight their way through the occupying Black Ops forces. What follows is a slugfest as Stefan and company face off against Xen, Race X, and Black Ops, snaking their way through the surface.

Entrance to the next location, Black Mesa Robotics Development, is barred by a retinal scanner, prompting Stefan's group to rescue a scientist in hiding. A ladder forces Stefan to once again separate from his teammates, and he can only hope they manage their safety. Kevin radios in to provide some reassurance, but it's making Stefan a bit suspicious now...
