Playing a new series custom campaign called Half-Life: Field Intensity. It is a campaign mod developed by Hazard Team and has more features than vanilla Half-Life: Opposing Force. This mod is unofficially connected to the original Half-Life games. However, it unfolds the events within the Black Mesa Research Facility.

The players will assume control of Cpl. Stefan Oldfield. An H.E.C.U. Marine, a member of the first squad who has been deployed to Black Mesa Research Facility to silence the witnesses and exterminate unknown hostile forces that invaded Black Mesa. Cpl. Oldfield's radio operator and an old friend, Kevin assist the player throughout the mission.

Storyline:
Upon entering the Gamma Labs, Kevin brings some bad news to Oldfield: Freeman is in Sector E, but he's on the entire other side of the area. Still, there are sure to be other scientists hiding out in the area, so there is still work to be done.

Due to the local personnel being unaware of the true purpose of the HECU, they're willing to work with Oldfield to grant access into the deeper areas of the Gamma Labs. This facility is part of the Black Mesa Biodome Complex, and houses numerous captive specimens from the borderworld. One such species is a genetically-modified Snark, which releases a powerful explosion upon death; Oldfield uses such snarks to deal with a bothersome Gargantua that is obstructing progress. He also finds a detached Hivehand as well as a Tau Cannon; two unconventional but very welcome additions to his arsenal.

On his way through, a scientist informs Oldfield of Black Mesa's plans to launch a satellite in the hopes of ending the alien invasion. This, coupled with a brief analysis of an abandoned HEV Suit, enables the HECU to further antagonize Gordon Freeman on his journey.
