*Played with the They Hunger Ultra Definition Pack. PC Gamer were an invaluable group of People when they were including disks with their magazines, USS Darkstar, Half-Life Chronicles and this mod were some of the many mods distributed throughout those good times and likewise it was rare to find horror mods at the time but They Hunger was an exception.

*The Version I am using It's an full trilogy repacked for Steam/WON, They Hunger is an TC that involves you as an troubled writer trying to retreat to the countryside to write an new novel when you crash your car and end up having to fight against an Zombie outbreak in the state of California.

The 3 Episodes of They Hunger all follow one another in terms of the Story, Episode 1 talks of the beginning of the outbreak, Episode 2 involves escaping from an Infected Sheriff and his hordes of Zombies and Episode 3 which came out in 2001 wraps it up with an epic helicopter battle.

They Hunger's Weapons and Enemies and level are based upon the 1950's though this can be up for debate, Most of the levels are based on outdoor areas with some being inside, An problem with an few maps is the lack of direction and you'll often be running around in circles trying to find out where to go.

They Hunger, much like Zombies Extreme Epidemic Edition for Doom 2 has not aged well in some regards:The voice acting for the Zombies, Sheriff and the Deputy Sheriff that you are rescued by have very laughable lines or corny lines, Franklin one of the antagonists has an minor role in Episode 3 but he too is painfully inept.

Though it is fun to play with the Lights off, They Hunger is an Mod you need to play on Halloween Night.
