Halo 3: ODST (The Master Chief Collection) - Part 9
0Time for the ninth and penultimate part of this playthrough. I play through Data Hive, which is the penultimate level of the game. The Rookie has arrived at the Superintendent's Data Center, and his mission is to find Dare.
The Rookie begins to head for sub-level 9, fighting off various Covenant forces in his way. The Rookie traverses through the facility, taking on Covenant resistance as he searches the area. He eventually picks up a conversation between the Superintendent and an unidentified NMPD officer. The Rookie fights off a group of Covenant and rescues the officer. When the Rookie activates the Data-Stack to the next level, a swarm of Drones fly out. The Rookie and the NMPD officer take out the drones and drop down into the stack and into a dark and circular room. They continue through many locked data stacks, taking on various Covenant forces. The Rookie takes another data stack to reach Level 9. While searching the level and taking out several Covenant forces, he picks up a transmission from Dare. After eventually finding a locked door at the end of a hallway, the Rookie knocks on the door to see that Dare is on the other side. They enter a room to see the Superintendent, A.I. that runs every system in the city. It is also revealed that the destruction of ONI Alpha Site woke up an entire hive. The mission is to secure Superintendent's data, but their way is right through the hive. The Rookie and Dare team up to take on Covenant forces on their way to the data center. The two eventually run into a hole, jumping down and fighting a Covenant patrol. They enter a huge cavern-like room and make their way through while fighting off swarms of Drones. The Rookie and Dare take a door at the end to get to the data center. After taking on a Brute Chieftain and his bodyguards, they enter the data center. An Engineer appears, with Dare explaining that they could be prisoners and don't like the Covenant more than them. Dare adds that she spotted this Engineer in the tunnels. She further explains that the Engineer knows what they need to know about the Covenant. The Engineer presses a button to reveal a small monitor, with the Superintendent zooming in on Jetpack Brute. The Superintendent also zooms in on Buck, who is looking for Dare. The Rookie and Dare fight off an entire squad of Covenant forces while defending the Engineer from them. The Rookie meets Buck, and they take a door with Dare and the Engineer. The Rookie takes out drones, and they enter the elevator. Making their way up and exiting the elevator, their new mission is to escort the Engineer out of the city.
