Halo 3: ODST (The Master Chief Collection) - Part 8
0I play through Kikowani Station in the eighth part of this playthrough, and this level is played through Buck’s perspective. Buck and his squad prepare to steal a Phantom and protect it.
Buck and Mickey fight off Covenant troops as they head for the Phantom. Mickey takes the lift and secures the Phantom. Buck finds and pilots a Banshee while Mickey picks up Romeo and Dutch. Buck takes on Covenant forces and enemy Banshees in the air, then escorts the Phantom to the tunnel. They leave the tunnel to take out more Banshees and Engineers in the air, and Buck eventually opens the door to another tunnel to take out a Phantom with his squad. They leave the tunnel to fight off a Wraith and more Engineers. They destroy multiple Huragok recharge stations in the process. Buck attempts to open the door to the next tunnel, but only the smaller doors open. Buck goes alone to fight off an entire squad of Brutes and other Covenant forces. Buck finds and hits a switch to open both doors. Buck gets back on his Banshee, and the team destroys multiple Huragok recharge stations. They make their way out of the tunnel and fight off Covenant vehicles, including Phantoms and a Scarab. While the rest of his squad fights off Banshees, Buck takes on the Scarab, eventually finding its weak point and destroying it. They enter the final tunnel. Buck destroys one Huragok recharge station, setting off a chain reaction and destroying the other Huragok recharge stations in the area. Buck and his team escape the final tunnel before they are caught in the crossfire. Buck hops off the Banshee and boards the Phantom, which is piloted by Mickey. Remembering a conversation with Dare from earlier, Buck orders Mickey to turn around and find a place to set the team down. Mickey asks why, and Buck says that he lost something (referring to Dare) and now knows where to find her. Mickey turns the Phantom around, and they head back into the city.
Still in the New Mombasa streets after all this time, the Rookie is still at Kikowani Station when he picks up a transmission from Dare. Dare asks through COM if anyone can hear her, stating that her beacon is active and asking for someone to respond. Looking up to see a Phantom pass by, the Rookie heads for the underground entrance. Fighting off Covenant forces on the way, the Rookie eventually finds an underground elevator shaft. After glancing down to see how deep the shaft is and a moment of hesitation, he jumps over the shaft to grab an elevator support cable and begins to rappel down. The Rookie picks up another transmission from Dare, and Dare says that she is cornered by Covenant forces and is low on ammo. Dare says that she is on sub-level nine, but static interference cuts her off. Arriving at the Superintendent's Data Center, the Rookie knows his mission, and his mission is to find Dare.
