never played the classic, I can totally see how nextgen this was back then, back when games were all small scale mazes. The game actually starts just like that, in the ship. the crashland is a real shock of reality worth of the hardware nextgen jump.

so glad to have quit flatgaming altogether years ago. I can really enjoy games in full immersion brand-new!
