Forerunner ships inside Ethran harborage have been activated due to unwilling help of Professor Anders. She herself manages to escape from Covenant clutches, just to be endangered by Flood infection forms, however Forge arrives to the rescue. A plan to stop the Covenant forces from using the ships inside Shield 0459 has to be formed, but Forge has to clear the area.
Mission begins with LZ being overrun by Swarm units. Whats left of UNSC escort teams escape through teleporter away from Flood units, ensuring the safety of Anders until new Pelican arrives. A simple task - just make sure you react to Jackal teams. Once Anders is evacuated, you will receive the Spartan team and a task of securing all 4 bases in the area.
First base is located SE from your forces, but is well defended - turrets on the base, Locust and Wraiths. I will be borrowing the Locust however, since its one of better units on the map. Steal it with Douglas and start attacking the Covenant base. Make sure to have RPG ability ready on your ODST's to destroy the Spirit carrying Honor Guard the moment it arrives. Once base is taken over, its time to plan your next step.
Build up your fortifications immediately - and upgrade them with Missile Turrets. Your ODST teams will server as one of entry defense teams for hordes of Banshees that will begin attacking your base. Build up your economy and decide on units. In my case i used Vultures, since they are decent anti-all fliers with Mega Barrage upgrade providing them with a much needed nuke potential. Enemy bases are located in the middle, on NW and NE from the map center. Destroying each will casue Honor Guard teams to appear, so be careful. On your way to NE area you will discover an abandoned Scarab, which i decided to claim for myself. It aided the Vulture with destruction of one of Summits and Covenant base nearby. Other vultures can move along NW edge of the map to spot not only one of bases byt two summits producing banshees. Destroying those will stop enemy attacks, so i recommend doing that. Base on NW higher ground area contains a nasty surprise - a Scarab is patroling this section. Nuke it down with power of Mega Barrage and sweep the area for your new base. Last is the area in the middle - and its an enigma, since it can have lot of Hunters, Wraiths or Vampires. Approach it carefully. Destroy the base and build your own to complete the mission.
If you have problems with skull objective, the area where the first Pelican got destroyed may have numbers of Bomber forms required for the objective. Coincidently its also the place where Skull appears. Black Box is lcoated north from the NE base, on the cliff above it.
However, i'd like a gold medal and a skull, so a work is before me - 12 Spirit Transports must be elliminated to obtain the skull. Build up your AA and spread your Hawks to ensure the quick destruction of enemy transports. Skull appear close to Turret slot in between Barracks on lower deck.
