Playthrough of Halo Wars Definitive Edition Mission 15 - Escape on Legendary Difficulty.

I dont want this to be over.

Forge's team reaches the Apex site and prepares the FTL Drive for detonation. However, they are ambushed by number of Elites led by the Arbiter himself. After exchange of blows and cunning tactics of Sargeant, Arbiter is defeated, while Red team cleans up the Elites. However during combat FTL controls get fried and cannot be detonated remotely. Forge volunteers to remain on the Apex site while rest of crew is attempting to clear the Forerunner blockade on their way.

Alstar where have you been? *looks at my impromptu visit on Pyrkon, a lot of airsofting, watching 86, having IRL struggles and mourning of the old friends* Uh, im back i guess?

Escape throws you into a four way FFA between you, Covenant, Flood and Sentinels. Your task is to open up the blockade to allow the Spirit of Fire to escape the Ethran Harborage before FTL drive detonation. Forge can only buy you so much time, so it's time to get moving.

There is a base located West of your position. I recommend you to claim it quickly, as you will require all the resources in the world. You have (almost) all of tech enabled, excluding Grizzlies, and all of support powers to use. Make sure to drop them on Covenant when you have the chance. Garrison nearby Forerunner Elevators to further increase your income. Covenant will attack often, so make sure to drop an Airstrike or Cryo bomb on top of them every now and then - those start at their max level already, while MAC Blast has to be upgraded manually. Try to sweep the area counter clock wise, there are couple of bases that are easy to grab on Flood side and are rather easy tod efend with Turrets - make sure you upgrade those.

My necessary upgrade list is following:
- Canister Shell/Power Turret for Scorpion Tanks - your main unit for sweeps.
- Deflection Plates/Piercing Shot for Cobras - for cheesing the Scarabs and dealing with Locusts
- MAC Blast - 4 shots are necessary, mainly for lowering the HP of Scarabs
- Heavy Turrets - you will need all the defense in the world
- All of Elephant Upgrades/ODST - about that later.

Flood section of the map can be quite annoying with constant respawns. For that reasons i decided to deploy couple of Elephants to keep the infection at bay, with added effect of deploying Marines/ODST when needed to capture the areas. Covenant base is last, and i recommend you dont toy around - destroy it and blast all of enemy forces around. After that, you will have to unlock the doors. Unlocking the panels that are on opposite sides will result in two of the platforms vanishing. Unlocking all of them correctly will complete the mission.

Skull objective is the ellimination of 3 Scarabs. I primarly used MAC Blasts and other support powers to soften/destroy it. Skull itself is located next to water basin at 12 o'clock. Black Box is located in the area above covenant base, about 11 o'clock from the center.

Ending this series feels bad. I enjoyed it a lot, despite all the brain damage some of missions gave me. It wasnt the msot watched series, but i still enjoyed it nontheless. If you are reading this, give o7 to John Forge from me in the comment section, you magnificent fella.
