Hayato plasma combo infinite and juggle tech MVC2 history lesson?

Just because I thought this was curious, and perhaps in a way it might be a lesson when labbing games, that sometimes things might not make sense when you try it. So as far as I can remember hayato plasma combo infinite/juggle stuff was thought to only work on roll, and server bot.. Now being a dude who likes to find new things or push the limits of games when im bored, I looked into this. And I think perhaps what happened is, certainly if you look at a character when you hit him, one would think oh if I hit the character lower to the ground like a OTG they would not pop up as high and stay lower. So perhaps it stands to reason that people thought well this only works vs them. However if you actually try and fiddle a bit, you can pretty clearly see that hitting a character like that actually bounces them a smidge higher than if you just do it higher to the ground to not get that specific animation. Which then allows this infinite to work on more characters. Now of course the other caveat would be that because of hurt boxes and hit boxes we can not always get this animation. However we can push this farther by doing certain knock downs which also let us get this animation as well.
Of course perhaps at the end of the day this is all somewhat moot since, you could just do one of the kill combos I said before and this is hard as hell whatever the case to do. But meh, its nice to push games to new levels so....
