From Golden State Warriors (3-15) vs Chicago Bulls (6-12) at Chase Center in San Francisco, CA..
ON HOW IT FELT TO CLOSE OUT THE GAME:
“It felt great to just do it with that group of guys in the locker room, the healthy ones at least, so just coming out with a win after we had struggles closing out games, the way that we did it with the energy and passion that was just really fun.”
ON WHAT’S HELPING HIM BE MORE AGRESSIVE:
“Our coaching staff really feels like playing that hard and that aggressive for me gives our team the best chance to win, so that’s all they had to say to me like, ‘Alright, I’ll do whatever’. Just going after blocks, going after everything, trying to get every board, every dive, every loose ball. That’s my role on this team and I’m going to continue to bring that energy, along with spacing the floor or whatever, but I’m just happy to be bringing the energy for this team.”
ON IF THIS IS AS GOOD AS HE’S FELT PHYSICALLY SINCE ENTERING THE NBA:
“This is the best I felt since college, to be honest.”
ON HOW UNIQUE THE CLOSING LINEUP WAS WITH FOUR WINGS ON THE COURT:
“It’s fun because we can switch everything. Everybody is looking out for each other, playing out there with E (Eric Paschall) it brought back super dope memories. Closing out games, just defending and just getting after it. We weren’t perfect but we played as hard as we could and that’s what got us the win.”
ON IF HE FELT A SPECIAL CONNECTION PLAYING WITH ERIC PASCHALL:
“Yeah, like when we came out of that last huddle we was like, ‘Same thing as Nova.’ We just guarding, no matter what we are giving it all we got and if we end up losing the game or whatever the case may be it ain’t going to be because we didn’t leave it all out there. That was my mentality and Dray (Draymond Green) just told me to keep going, keep playing hard and we came out with a win
ON FEELING HIS BEST PHYSICALLY:
“Well, forget physically. This is the best I’ve felt as a person since college, and that is not a knock on Atlanta. There was just some things I was going through and things I didn’t understand that made it harder for me that first year in Atlanta and just having people come around me and seeing that I need help and help me in a way that they have, especially my family, my close circle and the Warriors organization has made it a really easy transition from a very bad place to being happy again and just playing basketball. It was a long time that I kind of dreaded basketball and to get that back is pretty dope.”
