ON HAVING A COACH THAT GETS FIRED UP:
“I love that. A coach like that cares, he wants to win, and Coach (Steve) Kerr as a player, he’s been through a lot so he’s a winner himself, so he wants to win, he wants to change everything. I feel like we responded correctly tonight and we played well together. He’s competitive. A coach getting fired up, that’s a great thing, I like it. I’ve had coaches that they break clipboards and you respond to that. Having a coach that cares so much about his team and how we’re playing that means a lot for players just because he cares.”
ON OMARI SPELLMAN’S IMPROVEMENT:
“I feel like O (Omari Spellman) has just played a lot more confident now. Before he wasn’t really playing his game, like I could tell he was a little off so you just have to keep going. He’s a great player, he’s super talented and I feel like a player like that you always back him up and tell him keep being aggressive and tonight he had a double-double playing his butt off. I’m happy for Omari, we played together through college so to be on the same team now we’re cheering each other on on the same team is real cool. It was great to see him do that tonight.”
ON THE CLOSING LINEUP WITH FOUR WINGS:
I think it helped us tremendously on the defensive end. Having a lot of length out there, a lot of people that can guard. We did a great job down the stretch just talking to each other and playing great defense. I feel like that lineup can do a great job together and just being together talking.”
ON THEIR DEFENSE TONIGHT:
“I feel like that starts with stops. I feel like we put together a lot of stops and that fueled us to get rebounds and push the ball. I just feel like we did a great job together and kept playing hard the whole game.”
