This is a defector mission. By playing normal missions with the default characters (which die/retire and get replaced infinitely) you cause stations to defect. When they have defected you get to play these fun missions which aim to teach you how various tools can be used to breeze through what look like difficult situations. That's the fun of the game.

Here we have to assassinate someone on a ship with large squads of guards and furthermore with one explosive 'boss' guard per squad. Thankfully we have two self-regenerating emergency shields, plus the weapons and keycards they drop, plus item crates.

Note the use of pause to check what's going on, to time things, and to set up what items are on left and right click. You can also use mousewheel to zoom in and out, and hold F to speed up time.

00:20 Walk into guard squad with first shield up. Use 2nd shield to extend my safety. Explosive guard blows up.

00:54 I now have a lot of shotguns. Note they are quiet but a circle displays their audible range -- I shoot two guards but alert the rest. Killing them as they run down a corridor causes an explosion so large I alert the next squad. I stack five shotgun blasts using the pause system. I then pick up a glitch trap, which I use to throw the pilot into space without alerting anyone. No pilot = no shipwide alarm, and no chance for the pilot to set course for a station where security forces will capture me.

02:00 use a glitch trap and swap an enemy into it, moving me next to enemy while also removing the one I swapped onto the trap. I move carefully to shoot the second enemy while making sure I won't alert anyone -- all remaining guards are outside the audible range.

02:25 use shield to block damage from explosive guard being killed by his own squadmate.

02:55 being teleported into space is to be avoided.
