Heaven's Gate [Arcade] - play as Geezer
This is a play-through using Geezer in the Arcade version of Heaven's Gate. Read on below for more information...
Geezer appears as the final boss for the characters that are not of the Demon lineage in this game. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== About Geezer =====
He is a devil-type demon character with the power of fire. When you fight against him, his boss background is Hell.
Design-wise, he is basically a devil, mostly all-purple in colour with wings and horns, and can punch and kick like a martial artist. I can think of another final boss in another fighting game that fits this description...
Gameplay-wise, it appears that Geezer has a mix of some of the regular character's moves. His super move covers a large area and inflicts high energy depletion if it hits.
===== Additional Information =====
---- When you get to the final stage with him, his boss is Unknown.
---- On the character select screen, he shares his slot with Unknown. You may think that it's his 2P costume, but it isn't. Both are separate characters who are completely different in gameplay.
---- The PS1 version of the game is known as Yusha: Heaven's Gate in Japan and Europe.
===== About Heaven's Gate =====
Heaven's Gate is developed by Racdym/Racjin and published by Atlus. It is both companie's first attempt at a 3D fighting game. The game was originally planned to run on Sega's Model 2 hardware, but was eventually developed on Sony's ZN-1 arcade system instead.
It is a neat little game, with a variety of interesting characters. The gameplay seems to be a bit clunky, and leans towards a more technical side. The game runs at 30fps.
Aesthetically-wise, there are some neat touches, such as each character having a unique name text font; a completely different portrait image for alternative outfits; and a "logo" or "symbol" for each character (you can see these behind the bio on the character select screen in a 1-player game; and on the credits screen).
