Arcana Heart [PS2] - play as Mildred Avallone (playthrough)
52This is a play-through using Mildred Avallone in the PS2 version of Arcana Heart. Read on below for more information...
Mildred is the final boss in Story Mode of this game. She is an unplayable character.
She appears in 2 forms. Her 1st form is some kind of armored giant insect creature, and her 2nd form is the human form as shown in this video.
It should be noted that Mildred has her own unique Arcana (which I call the 'Mildred-ISM') style, which is also a non-selectable Arcana. I have selected this Arcana with her.
===== About Mildred Avallone =====
She is formerly the chief secretary of the British Spirit Society. Her goal is to merge the human and elemental worlds and attain deity-like powers. Basically, she's the "take-over-the-world-and-make-it-a-utopia" type.
Gameplay-wise, she uses a mix of all the other character's Arcana moves. However, most of the ones that Mildred uses are slightly different and are more powerful than the original counterparts.
She is one of the best unique unplayable characters.

---- She has no basic moves.
---- She cannot crouch.
---- She can jump, but she does not have any basic air moves.
---- She has no Arcana Special / Homing flight.
---- If you choose her with a different Arcana other than her own one, she will not have any special moves.
---- If you go into her Command List, it will lock the game.
---- Despite being an unplayable character, she actually has a different colour palette. This is the one used in the video.
---- Despite being a non-selectable character, her portrait image appears perfectly on the Training Mode background/opponent select screen.
---- Despite being an unplayable character, her portrait image appears perfectly on the Continue screen (if you lose).
---- On the versus screen, her portrait image shows her having the short hair. However in-fight, her Super Move portrait image is the one with the long hair that matches her in-fight character.
---- On the winning screen, her name tag is some letters and numbers; and the text/dialogue is flawed text from another character (probably Aino's).
---- Her double-jump makes her land instantly on the ground.
---- If you select a 'regular' Arcana with her, she can actually activate the Arcana Force. However there will be no sprites of Mildred when she does it.
---- If you select a 'regular' Arcana with her, she can still use the Arcana's moves, however Mildred will have no sprites for them.
---- When she is performing her Destruction Rays, there are some colour faults on her sprite. This may be due to her 2nd colour palette.
---- When you complete Arcade Mode with her, her portrait image and icon appears perfectly on the Score Ranking screen. However, her Arcana icon is flawed, it's just an image of the "COMBO" text.
---- When you complete the game with her, her after-credits "message" is flawed.
---- Her surname is spelled as "Avalon" in the game.
===== About Arcana Heart =====
This is an excellent 2D fighting game with a diverse roster of characters... the gameplay is basically like a mix of Street Fighter and Guilty Gear with some Marvel Vs elements thrown in.
The unique aspects of this game include the Arcana card system, where each card has a set of unique moves. When you select a character, you are also required to select an Arcana to go with her. This effectively gives a character a 2nd set of moves (of the Arcana). Each card specifically belongs to a certain character, but you can select any card you want for any character.
The other unique feature is the Special / Homing Flight button. When pressed and held down, this basically allows you to fly and home into the opponent no matter where they are as long as you have Flight gauge. So if you want to do air combos after launching the opponent, you need to use this button to fly up instead of pressing Up... don't worry, you'll get used to it. =)
