HENRY MOTEGO
Henry Motego was the 1987 league's top scorer with 21 goals ahead of AFC Leopards' Francis Kadenge and Gor Mahia's Peter Dawo.
His goals helped Shabana FC finish third in the league behind Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
Born in 1964, Motego joined Shabana FC in 1984 at the age of 20.
In 1989 he joined Kenya Breweries FC where he scored in the CECAFA Club Cup Final in Nairobi where Breweries won their second CECAFA Club title.
They beat Tanzania's Coastal Union 3-0 with Motego scoring one and Paul Onyera two goals.
He joined Al Oruba Sur in Oman for the 1991/92 season.
He returned to Kenya Breweries in 1992 and played for them until his retirement in 2000.
He made 49 caps for the national team scoring 12 goals.
He represented Kenya in three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in 1988 (Morocco), 1990 (Algeria) and 1992 (Senegal).
His first national cap was on 14th December, 1987 at the age of 23 against Zanzibar in the CECAFA tournament in Ethiopia.
