Heretic isn't modded as often vs Doom but the quality I've seen aside from most "duds" I've rejected for their series shine like diamonds.
Authored by Not Jabba, This Episode 1 replacement was released on June 16th 2019 and was given a winner spot at that year's Cacoawards. Also, interestingly, The Wayfarer also has a built in mod which changes monster attacks to be more dangerous, a new weapon and other minor changes and this mod can be gotten separately for base heretic levels, it's name is "The Wayfarer's Tome", I'll tackle that one later.
This episode replacement does have one issue I don't like and its that these maps can be very confusing at times, Post video I had to stop on map02 because I could not find out where to go, Heretic's base episodes and the expansion episodes by comparison did have some hard to figure out environmental puzzles but not to the level that The Wayfarer does, Still I find this episode very impressive and worthy of it's cacoaward.
