3https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/heretic/Ports/hocx I still get the chills and the pain and scars when I think of Plutonia Experiment and wads inspired by it like Scythe II and Hell Revealed, These wads changed what Doom could be and it was a great surprise to actually see a wad for Heretic which plays just like Plutonia Experiment, This file in question is the final release of the "Hordes of Chaos" series.
Hordes of Chaos X was released by Udderdude, Vermil, and Hobomaster on January 11th 2005 and is a compilation of previous Hordes of Chaos releases with X containing HOC V, In total 5 episodes of VERY tough maps, The maps are crawling with monsters loaded with item pickups and weapons and are spring loaded with more traps than you could imagine, It also has Doom enemies packed in for good measure.
There isn't any story but rather each map is programmed to remove the weapons but leave your items in the inventory when you clear a map and was made with Skill 4 in mind, Post video I spent about 4 hours trying to clear Episode 3 but I quit on E3M3 as whew, I kid you not, this megawad is hard as hell but thats the challenge right? I actually found Hordes of Chaos to be a well-built slaughterfest.
