Making one last detour before the final confrontation, ZEUS heads to an inconspicuous wall near the entrance to the Stronghold. Afterwards, they enter a specific room to encounter one of two secret final party members, depending on the answer they gave to the old man in Lido.

In this case, Shu Shirakawa awaits ZEUS, and implies he's given Masaki the slip - (note: my sources tell me that it's implied Masaki is the canon decision and the one to join ZEUS for the final confrontation here).

In either case, Seabook will leave the party and wish his comrades well for the final battle.

Confronting Apollon, ZEUS have a philosophical back and forth with him. Apollon appears to speak with a hint of melancholy to his voice, expressing regrets for having to fight them. However, the moment of truth arrives, and all involved transform into their combat forms, including Apollon with his XN Geist.

Not willing to give up without a fight, the battle rages on as the XN Geist transforms into its true form.

However, it, and Apollon, are ultimately defeated by ZEUS. And yet, Apollon accepts his defeat with grace. Apollon's mask breaks as it's revealed that he was actually Gilliam all along.

Gilliam explains he'd regained his memories after the incident with the hostages where he'd been thought dead. In summary, Gilliam had at one point used his precognition to peer into the future, and found there was nothing there - this revealed to him that the very nature of Hero Senki's setting, a crossover game, made no sense, and could only happen through artificial means.

Not willing to succumb to his despair at the revelation, he figured he had to come up with a plan to prevent the world from ending: Project Olympus. Gilliam was motivated out of fear that the world would end before he could save it. His battle with ZEUS has, however, reignited his hope for the future.

Despite everything they've endured because of him, ZEUS can only see Gilliam as their friend, and to the end, offer to get him help.
Unfortunately, Gilliam warns them that the Helios Fortress won't last much longer as its interior was sustained by the now-destroyed XN Geist.

Kotaro tells Gilliam he has to stay alive to remain accountable for his actions as Apollon, but Gilliam retorts that they can't leave with him since it's taking everything he has to give them time to leave.
He threatens to warp them forcibly if they won't comply.

Before they part ways for the final time, Gilliam asks whether the girl he tried to save made it out alright. His friends and comrades assure him his efforts weren't in vain.

With ZEUS having exchanged their final words to each other, Gilliam transports the trio out of the Stronghold as its space collapses around them. Shu, mostly unsympathetic, doesn't have much to say, but the trio pities and mourns for their fallen companion.

The B team arrives to inform the A team that the war with Axis has ended, and peace has returned at last to Elpis. Despite this, the B team notices the somber expressions on the A team's face, but Amuro insists it's nothing. Taro celebrates that they have a future again, which causes the trio to reflect on Gilliam's words.

The epilogue begins with a written report by Kai, who reflects on the events of the game and what it means to be a person with free will.

Various events play out: ZEUS parting ways until they're assigned a new mission, a happy Haman and Mineva, Combatmen down on their luck, and Kamen Rider 2 being annoyed by Mole Beastman. Life will continue to move on.

Elsewhere, a young girl receives a present from a "G.J" - another teddy bear to be a new friend to her beloved Huey.

And finally, with a last shot of V3 peering out into the distance, Hero Senki is finally over.

This video has been edited (reducing the number of encounters only to the first instance of new enemies and removing backtracking to objectives) for time's sake.
