Heroes of the Storm-Lunara gameplay and winter veil sales!
2So Lunara came out. She, along with Greymane, Cho'Gall and Tracer, was part of the reveals during Blizzcon 2015. Cho'Gall dropped first, had a good week and then summarily tanked after that (not the good aggro kind of tanked but the bad, flop on your ass tank). Would Lunara be Blizzard's saving grace?
In short...not really :( Oh she can be snipey as fuck. Her prancey heroic sure can infuriate somebody who thought they put a pack of allies between them and the fray while having low HP. The problem is, if in fact she kills them on the first shot, she's stuck. She needs another enemy to get back OR talent into the heroic at 20. We all know the phrase "glass cannon". Well Lunara is just glass. Period. I call her Glasszeebo. She has all the staying power of toilet paper in a garbage disposal. With no escapes and no ability at all to take damage, she is easily dropped in a fight. Her hoppy skippy prancey is good for chasing down somebody on foot but does little to get her out of harms way. Plus, and maybe this is a function of animations, it seems she has to completely get all 4 legs on the ground to begin her auto-attack. She can't do 180s to shoot and quickly flip back to run. Take for example Raynor. Raynor can kite somebody with 180s and auto attacks or 180s and penetrating rounds. Lunara really can't.
So what *IS* she good at? Well, she's great at turning off people's escapes. Popping her poisons wreaks hell with people trying to get out of combat and messes up Novas and Diablos alike. If she can work her magic behind a team of tanks and heals, she's solid. She's VERY capable of being your top DPSer. She might even be good at wave clear but not really camps. I feel like they might have been better off making her a healer or support and wonder how she got through play testing in this state. It took some time for people to adjust to Cho'Gall. Lunara took about 5 mins before people were like LOL fuck this garbage.
