In the most recent HOTS patch, we got the Starcraft themed Braxxis Holdout map, many hero changes and a new protoss hero named Alarak. He might look a bit like Artanis but don't be fooled, he's not even close.

While he does share Artanis' love for some Sonic level, high speed dashing, this is where the similarities end. Alarak is an assassin and man he's pretty fragile. He is also very tough to get used to. With one ability having a charge up time and another ability have the oddest mouse usage, aim craziness in the game, this is not the hero to make panic plays on. His skillcap is fairly high and he is best suited for the hands of a patient player. Getting hits while on the run back for cover is not easy with him. Fortunately, his lightning blast heal beam is pretty standard. I'm curious if a beam build becomes popular because of this. He has an interesting trait of doing bonus damage to heroes that he can nerf via talents to give himself more utility. He can also gain the usage of both heroics at 20 which is a definite first. I find him to be fun with his Q taking on the shape of Kylo Ren's saber but he is definitely squishy as hell and suffers badly against heavy ranged like Chromie and Hammer.
