Livelock-first look and gameplay
4Livelock is an interesting, new, twin-stick shooter from Arc games. It is going to be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox one. It reminds me quite a bit of Alien Swarm on Steam. The broken down planet aesthetic reminds me a lot of EA's old game Darkspore. The game actually works well with a keyboard and mouse despite it being a twin-stick. In what little time I've played the game, I like it quite a bit. Even though it seems to play a lot like most popular arpgs (like Diablo), it is not a loot based game. With the waves and waves of enemies you find and secrets out in the levels, you would think there'd be loot explosions everywhere but there isn't. You do get credits instead which allow you to upgrade your weapons. I sort of dislike the fact that I need to leave the game lobby in order to do this. That means if you get a nice group going, you can't stop to do upgrading and continue along with your group.
