Heroes of the Storm-post patch changes!
0Hello all! Today we're taking a look at some of the changes that have been made to the Heroes of the Storm alpha after the most recent patch.
One of the most notable changes was the addition of Chen to the roster. He's a melee warrior that can get pretty tanky if you want him to be. There's a bundle that gives you his first and second skins. His first heroic is being called slightly OP. I've seen it in action and it does seem to be solid but not horribly OP. I need to check it out myself.
The maps have had some changes with the mine area of the golem map getting shrunk a bit. A lot of map icons have been made more pronounced so it's a LOT easier to see what you're going for on the minimap. You can also hit C while in game to get a really nice, WoW type character sheet that will stay up if you want.
Several of the daily quests have changed too. Winning a game is now winning 3 and winning 2 is now even higher. The gold amounts have changed a bit too. I'm not sure what is driving this but I had WAY more even matches last night than previously. I even had one rather large gap, roflstomp turn even at the end despite the opposite team not having much of a chance all round. It was my first time hitting 30 kills before death.
With the changes, the UI is different and the screen get slightly "broken" while dead (not broken in a game way, the graphics give it a broken look). I actually don't like the new death graphics as it slices into the viewport a bit. Also coming shortly is a 64 bit client.
All in all, with the changes, the game is still exceptionally fun and it still had a near daily track record of being played for me. For somebody who was rather against prior mobas, I do really like HoTS and see myself playing this well after the alpha.
