What do I do next, should a 'random event' occur, what mods to use and perhaps rules and restrictions on my Minecraft interactions?

I'm free to ignore or deny suggestions IF they obstruct the flow. I'm not spending three episodes feeding cows, if only because the video would be boring too!
Preferably, you'll mention WHAT you're suggesting first. Example:

For Random Events, it might be fun to add conditions, restrictions and all. It can be whatever you want. Random events are set up BETWEEN episodes, unlike Next Times. Often, this is done in creative!

In the middle of the forest is a large column of iron. Unless the chest at the top is filled with wool, explosions will destroy your home!

For Rules, make sure they're logical and comprehsive. You know, so I don't have to figure out what you actually mean!

Rule:
No pickaxes! If you must mine, use anything that doesn't have "pickaxe" in the name or looks like one!

For Next Times, try to keep things simple. If you have a super cool idea, go ahead, but simpler and more open ideas tend to be more interesting to see in effect!

Next Time:
Build a large volcano with a cauldron on top. That way, your soup is always fresh and tasty!

For mod suggestions, tell if it's compatible with existent mods (lists found in the description) and what it does. Also, a term with which I can Google and find it! Links are unlikely to be accepted!

Mod Suggestion:
Optifine, for that Optifine-freshness!
It speeds up rendering, freeing space for more redstone machines.

Random Events:
Random events is when you recommend a wacky thing to happen. This event is semi-permanent, depending on what it is.
For example, you can suggest an everlasting night, an invasion of monsters, or the appearance of an arcane castle filled with books and lore of a dimension far away.
As of now, no limits are set, but, like everything, this may be subject to change!

What Next:
Should I build a fort? Find diamonds? Perhaps kick back and enjoy the weather a bit?
Essentially, a suggestion for next video's activities. As the series pick up, you can get bolder with your ideas!

Recommend Mods:
Recommend mods! For now, try to keep it simple. If you recommend a BIG mod, I can either do a separate series exploring it or, if it's compatible, itegrate it into this series! Preferable, for now, mods are utilitarian and speed up processes, like faster travel!
Note that non-compatible mods will get a separate video!
Also, for time being, version 1.7.2 of Minecraft will be used, since Thaumcraft is the 'foundation' for this series. This is subject to change during updates.

Set Rules:
Maybe I can't sprint? Jump everywhere? Only go out during the night?
Set some rules and for an episode, I am forced to follow. During contradicting rules, the one with the most votes wins. In a tie, everybody wins and I spend my time in limbo.
