This video was recorded in a short timeframe to be complete in time for SGDQ submissions and was the very first pass with no commentary practice or even having seen it before. Be sure to tune in to SGDQ 2019 to see this with proper commentary.
Mario Kart Wii has a built-in replay system for Time Trials. These replay files contain input data which synchronizes on real, unmodified hardware. This selection of TASes from 15 different people shows various exploits, including hopping 30 times per second to stick to floors and build up speed, scaling entire walls by driving into trees, and driving through solid walls in order to show how far this game can be pushed.
Note: This video is a bit "raw" and messy (you might say fast and furious or even made by the fast and the furious) as we were seeing these tracks for the first time and reacting to them all while being distracted by the pbn window in the lower left being taken to an entirely new extreme by shoving full frame images through our own private IRC server, but that's another video. Per the note around 21:00 this *is* in fact being played back on the unmodified original disc albeit with a cheat code applied to allow the audio to be heard during playback and at 23:00 I show how the video signal is going from my Wii through component video cables into my PVM screen and then on to an OSSC out to a DVDO iScan HD+ to correct sync timing and finally to a Magewell HDMI Pro capture card in Linux. Also note that the posting of this video was delayed from our normal Friday cycle due to Twitch ToS restricting immediate reupload.
