Hi no Tori Hououhen: Gaou no Bouken is a 1987 platformer by Konami, released exclusively for the Nintendo Famicom. It's based off of the manga, Hi no Tori, or “Phoenix”, created by Osamu Tezuka. Not a whole lot is known about this game outside of Japan, but since it was only $5 at the local game shop, I picked it up based solely on the fact that it's a Konami platformer. So how does it hold up compared to the games that we received out here in the west?
